Extension springs

Extension springs can be found in many areas, for example in garage doors, swing sets and trampolines. They are a type of spring that is stressed in the direction of tension, absorbing forces and releasing them again when the load is removed.

Detailed description

  • consist of a coiled spring body made of adjacent coils with loops at both ends
  • the spring body is usually wound clockwise on the right, a left-wound version is also possible if required
  • available as a cylindrical design or in special shapes, can also be manufactured to sample
  • the coils/windings can be manufactured with low or high pressure in relation to each other, resulting in low or high preload/spring force
  • to produce the loops, coils are set up from this wound spring body in different variants:
    • centred or lateral
    • single or double
    • straight or diagonal
    • at different angles, e.g. 0 degrees, 90 degrees, 180 degrees, etc.
